Plot:
In the medieval world of Veroka, monsters and demons alike roam and terrorize humankind. The Bone Devil has plagued the Kingdom of Remény for years. After a group of trackers fails to kill the creature, King Samuel decides to bring in an elite group of monster hunters. These hunters must use every skill they have obtained from around the globe to destroy this ancient evil. Will they be enough, or will the Bone Devil continue its reign of terror?

I watch a lot of movies. Horror, fantasy, science fiction, action, comedy, and everything in between. From big budget blockbusters to low budget independents. One thing I have learned over the years is: you never know what you’re going to get when you pick out a movie to watch. Especially these days with all the streaming platforms trying to get our attention.

The market is inundated with so many movies!
Sometimes, a lot of money gets thrown at a movie, and it turns out to be a dud, and other times, with a far more restrictive budget, a movie truly impresses. I personally feel more people should give movies with a modest budget a chance, because—every now and then—you are going to find a gem.
Films by the Mahal Empire are known to deliver such gems. The production company, ran by Michael and Sonny Mahal, has produced such films as Arena Wars, Bus Party To Hell, and Bermuda Island. With so many fun indie films being released by this up-and-coming duo, viewers are in for an enjoyable ride. While they might not be big box office draws, they are definitely entertaining, and worth a watch.
Devil’s Knight is no exception.

Set in medieval times, Devil’s Knight delivers a film which fans of sword and sorcery will thoroughly enjoy, and it has plenty of blood and gore for horror fans, too. It’s full of emotion, action, monsters, swords, and blood. I would recommend you don’t let children watch it.
The actors all deliver amazing performances, especially Robert Standley as Mathias Brennus. It also stars Angie Everheart, Kevin Sorbo, Daniel Baldwin, Michael Beran, Elley Ringo, and many others.

The locations and sets are beautiful and exotic and make you want to believe it’s really medieval times, and the music plays its own character, adding another dimension to the movie. I am a huge fan of movie music, and the Devil’s Knight soundtrack is amazing.
As a fantasy and horror fan, I really enjoyed this one, and I think you may, too. Another great film from the Mahal Empire.

ABOUT THE REVIEWER:

Michael Errol Swaim is a horror and fantasy author and proud citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He first picked up a pencil and began to write stories many moons ago before he was even born, and due to several mishaps, including a liver and kidney transplant, he stopped writing. After a 25-year hiatus, he has returned to doing what he loves most: writing. Michael focuses on horror but occasionally dabbles in fantasy and poetry. His first horror publication is in issue three of Carnage House, and his stories will appear in several upcoming anthologies. He also writes film and book reviews for the Weird Wide Web blog. Because he was such a weird kid, his parents dropped him off in the middle of a forest in Green Country, where a rabid squirrel raised him, and he eventually returned to civilization. He currently resides in Colcord, Oklahoma, with his wife, Mandy, his three kids, and his special princess, Wolfgirl the Cat.
