Hi! My name is Lindsey Goddard. I’m an author whose written work has appeared in publications such as Gamut Magazine and Creepy. I’ve been active in the horror writing community for a long time, but I have primarily released shorter work (poetry, flash fic, short stories, novelettes, and novellas) rather than novels. That’s because I have too many ideas! As far back as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with fiction, music, movies, and art. Anything but reality.
I started WeirdWideWeb.org because I’ve spent my entire life attempting to surround myself with other creative people. I’m an author, sure, but I’m also a fan of other writers, musicians, and artists, and since my tastes are usually on the darker side, Weird Wide Web is a place where all my dark interests can intermingle.

At Weird Wide Web, we offer the spotlight to fellow creatives through articles and interviews on our WordPress Blog; we support fellow authors by running writing competitions with cash awards; and we PODCAST! We will host a costume contest in the near future with cool prizes awarded for Best Costume, and ANYONE can submit a photo to enter! I’m going to make sure there’s always something fun and interactive going on!
Watching this website grow due to YOUR interaction has been amazing. I’ve received guest music and movie reviews, sent in by readers who enjoyed our articles. I’ve awarded four prizes in our first annual fiction writing contest. And I’ve recorded and released EIGHT episodes of the podcast! At first, there wasn’t much of a plan for the podcast, other than chatting with my co-hosts, Suzie Lockhart and Kasey Hill, about weird topics. Then on Episode #5, I had my first interview (with author T.M. McLean), which was fantastic, and something I’d love to do more often.
On the most recent two episodes, our podcast took a turn in a different direction. I mentioned on social media that I was playing with the idea of a vampire episode, and BOOM! I received SO MANY fiction submissions from interested authors that I ended up splitting the vampire episode into two parts and recording several audio horror stories with full music scores and sound effects. Wow. I didn’t see that coming! IT WAS GREAT! I love our unscripted episodes with my co-hosts, where we giggle and act crazy, but I think these short story productions are something special! And listeners agree!

I hope you have enjoyed the show so far. I work really hard to produce, release, and promote it. But I must admit, more often than not, I come away from the experience of creating a new episode feeling like it could have been better… always left with a lingering feeling that there was room for improvement. For instance: On the last episode (VAMPIRES! PART TWO!) several sections had to be re-recorded due to my cheap microphone having issues and words sounding muted or clipped upon playback. The final result, to me, is a patched-together sound that disrupts the smooth and immersive vibe I was going for with these story readings. This happens a lot while recording. I have technology issues. I run my audio editing programs on a tiny notebook laptop that’s going on four years old, and I record everything with microphone equipment that likely costs a dollar to manufacture, I got it so cheap. What can I say? It’s what I could afford, and it’s what I’ve got.
But I’m having a blast with this podcast and would LOVE to get even better. So if you’re enjoying it, too, could I ask a small favor? If you’re in the position to, consider sending a small donation to the show. No worries if you cannot. I have always been happy to run Weird Wide Web out of my own pocket. But a mere $5 or $10 donation could go a long way for this weird girl with a dream!
