The Weird Art of Shelby Nichols

Happy Hump Day, you freaking weirdos.

The winner of the book giveaway from the last post has been notified. Thank you so much to the new followers.

Today, in continuing our celebration of International Women’s Month, Women’s History Month, and Women in Horror month, I bring you the artwork of Shelby Nichols, and the opportunity to get to know her a little bit better.

Shelby, I adore your work. When did you start painting?

I’ve been painting for about 10 years, but I’ve been drawing my whole life.

My paintings really started to improve when I started working at a paint and sip. Essentially, it’s getting paid to practice. I also get inspiration from other artists to try new things and expand my comfort zone.

My influences are horror movies, junk food, glitter… anything that I really love. I was actually in a huge art slump for about 7 years and was really depressed. I got into a little show and had to make some art, so I started painting some of my favorite things. It worked!

Hmmm, I’m not sure which one of my pieces is the weirdest. Sometimes I think I’m a little vanilla. Lol.

If that is your version of vanilla, I’d love to see your swirl, girl!

So, where can people find you on the web?
